Connecting Our Community Through Parks and Recreation

Parks and recreational spaces are the heart of any community. They bring people together, encourage healthy lifestyles, and provide a safe haven for relaxation and enjoyment. In Ward 3, we are fortunate to have beautiful parks, but there’s more work to be done to maximize their potential.

My vision is a Ward 3 where parks are bustling with activity—children laughing on playgrounds, seniors practicing Tai-Chi under the morning sun, families gathering for picnics, and cyclists enjoying safe, well-maintained bike paths. These spaces should reflect the diversity and vibrancy of our community.

To achieve this, we need to invest in both infrastructure and accessibility. This means ensuring that our parks are clean, safe, and equipped with modern amenities. It also means improving accessibility for seniors and individuals with disabilities, so everyone can enjoy these spaces equally.

Bike paths are another essential part of this vision. Ward 3 has incredible potential to become more bike-friendly, connecting neighborhoods and reducing traffic congestion. By creating safe, well-marked bike lanes, we can encourage more residents to choose cycling as a healthy and environmentally friendly transportation option.

As your representative, I will advocate for increased funding for parks and recreational facilities, prioritize safety measures like better lighting and security, and work to expand our bike path network. Parks and bike paths are more than amenities—they are investments in our quality of life.

Let’s work together to create a Ward 3 where parks and recreation bring us closer as a community. With your support, we can make this vision a reality.
